At ECRI, a patient safety organization, in collaboration with PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute), I led the UX and UI design for their new Horizon Scanning Database project.
The project entailed converting what were previously text heavy PDF reports that were sent out quarterly to an interactive database that would allow visitors to browse on-demand rather than wait for periodic updates.
Working cross-functionally across companies and teams, I collected requirements and created user flows for various methods of search retrieval and browsing.
After reviewing the flows with internal stakeholders, I created wireframes to accompany each flow. Our team recruited external stakeholders to participate in usability testing as part of our user research process.
We collected insights from these usability testing sessions and prioritized features accordingly. We set up calls with the stakeholders if they were interested in participating in a future study where we could take them through the live database they helped design.

Following PCORI brand guidelines, I collaborated with our front-end developer to bring the wireframes to life. Since this was an MVP, we kept the design simple leaving room to evolve once users got a feel for the new system.
